Google offers you that option; there are alot of ways to search with Google besides just typing what you want in. Hell, just adding speech marks around your search makes it a hell of a lot more specific.

PirateBay has "TV Shows" and "Music" as links. Google doesn't offer links to individual types of material in the same way (at least not that I'm aware of).

That fine is divied up between 4 different owners and I'm sure that they have a lot more were that came from. This is like a fine were a proathlete swears at a ref. Not a big fine.

They said they can't and won't pay. Although I'm not sure how much it'd cost to keep servers running and all that jazz.

However in a press release the priate bay said that this would not affect the site at all.

I am pretty sure losing $4.5 million would impact the running of Pirate Bay a fair bit. If not, then them Pirates really have a lot of money to burn which would be nuts and seemingly go against everything they stood for?

Also I think the fundamental difference between Google and Pirate Bay as pirating tools is that with Pirate Bay you can explicitly choose to limit yourself to TV Shows/Music/Games/whatever (straight off the homepage, too - that does scream piracy), while Google offers no options of that sort, so I'm not sure of the comparison.
